Update 11/30-dry hopped and finished at 1020, a little high, but expected for Cali V. Crash cooled it for 5 days and kegged. It is pretty tasty and should round into form nicely in a few weeks.

Tapped the keg and this is a fine beer, flavor and aroma are spot on for Dale's. This is a winner.
ReplyDeleteDid a blind test against the real deal and I could pick out the homebrew pretty easily based on looks alone. It was slightly darker and less clear than the original. But the flavor and aroma was just about spot on. The homebrew finishes a bit sweeter because of the higher FG from the Cali V yeast. I would sub US-05 next time. Still, I have no complaints about this beer. It is very good.
ReplyDeleteI recently had a sampling of this. What a fantastic beer! Has a wonderful aroma and an excellent hoppy taste!
